Location: Remote

The client is seeking an experienced Emergency Department (ED) Medical Coders to join our team. These are full-time, remote opportunities with one long-term role.

Apply appropriate infusion and injection coding for complex cases

Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, payer requirements, and regulatory standards

Review documentation for completeness and accuracy; query providers when appropriate

Successfully complete required ED and Infusion coding assessments:

  • ED assessment: diagnosis (DX) and CPT codes required
  • Infusion assessment: infusion and injection codes only (no E/M, lab, or radiology coding required)

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Coding certificate from an accredited/approved program

Certifications:

  • CPC or CCS required

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of ED (facility) coding experience using ICD-10-CM and CPT
  • Experience with additional outpatient service lines (e.g., ASU, Observation, Infusion Center) preferred 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of infusion and injection coding, including complex cases and multi-day encounters
  • Proficiency with EPIC and 3M 360 preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and coding accuracy
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate coding rationale
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Solid computer and technical skills

Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday
  • Available shifts (EST):
    • 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
    • 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
    • 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
    • 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Flexibility required for meetings, training, and education sessions
