Inpatient Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialist
Assignment Overview
- Specialty: Inpatient Clinical Documentation Integrity
- Engagement/Length of Contract: Full-time, ongoing
- Schedule: Flexible; ET time zone during NBH
- Location: Remote
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial, follow-up, and concurrent reviews of inpatient medical records.
- Complete a combination of:
- New-case reviews
- Re-reviews
- Final reviews and case closeout
- Maintain expected productivity levels, including approximately:
- ~20 total daily touches consisting of re-reviews and closeouts Usually they are assigned an average of 30.
- 5-6 new-case reviews per day
- Broad range of IP – centralized between the 2 hospitals
- Mortality review experience
- Queries: extensive number of templates they are required to use.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license or FMG.
- CCDS or CDIP certification.
- Minimum of three to five years of inpatient CDI experience.
- At least three years of acute-care clinical experience, such as inpatient bedside nursing or case management.
Systems Experience
Experience with the following systems is required:
- Iodine
- Meditech
- Excel for a shared workbook for query discrepancies or disagrees or missed opportunity to query.
