Outpatient Risk Adjustment Coder – Post Visit / Pre Bill
Norwood is seeking a full-time, remote Outpatient Risk Adjustment Coder to review completed outpatient encounters and medical records.
The coder will identify and assign supported HCC diagnosis codes, confirm that diagnoses are appropriately documented for the encounter, and code each diagnosis to the appropriate level of specificity in accordance with applicable coding and regulatory requirements.
The coder may query providers for clarification, clinical validation, supporting documentation, and specificity. The role also includes identifying unsupported acute-condition coding, OIG target conditions, and other documentation or coding risks.
Requirements:
- Outpatient risk-adjustment coding experience
- CRC preferred; CPC or CCS considered
- CCDS-O or CDEO a plus
- Experience with Epic and risk-adjustment workflows
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to meet a target of five reviews per hour
- Ability to maintain at least 95% quality
This is a full-time, remote assignment currently targeted to begin November 16, 2026. Some weekday business-hour availability is required during onboarding and training.
