Location: Remote
The client is seeking an experienced Emergency Department (ED) Medical Coders to join our team. These are full-time, remote opportunities with one long-term role.
Apply appropriate infusion and injection coding for complex cases
Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, payer requirements, and regulatory standards
Review documentation for completeness and accuracy; query providers when appropriate
Successfully complete required ED and Infusion coding assessments:
- ED assessment: diagnosis (DX) and CPT codes required
- Infusion assessment: infusion and injection codes only (no E/M, lab, or radiology coding required)
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Coding certificate from an accredited/approved program
Certifications:
- CPC or CCS required
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of ED (facility) coding experience using ICD-10-CM and CPT
- Experience with additional outpatient service lines (e.g., ASU, Observation, Infusion Center) preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of infusion and injection coding, including complex cases and multi-day encounters
- Proficiency with EPIC and 3M 360 preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and coding accuracy
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate coding rationale
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Solid computer and technical skills
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
- Available shifts (EST):
- 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Flexibility required for meetings, training, and education sessions
