Overview
Serves as educator, consultant, researcher, instructional and evaluation designer, clinical practice expert, and interprofessional collaborator supporting the development needs of staff in the CDI department as well as throughout the system.
Supports the educational components related to CDI throughout the organization.
Program Development, Promotion and Oversight Functions: Responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating and delivering education to CDI staff, providers and staff promotes quality of care and development and maintenance of standard work and clinical guidelines through chart review, process and outcome evaluation and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
-Assist with 2nd level reviews
-Assist with monthly query reviews
-Help with monthly provider education sessions
-Assist with orientation of new hires
-Stay up to date on quarterly coding clinics
-Perform chart audits and query writing education
-Coordinate learning from monthly ACDIS webinars for staff
-Keep up on 3M updates
-Act as a daily resource for staff
-Sit in on education sessions with the staff
-Conduct program data review
-Give educational presentations
Qualifications
Experience:
- Three years’ experience in CDI
- Five years of direct nursing prefer ED or critical care
Licensure/Credentials: RN in State of New Mexico or Compact State License
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Specialty Certifications: CDIP or CCDS required or must be obtained within one year of hire
