• Lead, manage and perform CDI efforts ensuring high-quality and consistent outcomes
• Assist in developing and implementing CDI strategies tailored to client needs and organizational goals
• Serve as a subject matter expert, advising client and internal stakeholders on best practices in clinical documentation
• Conduct reviews of clinical documentation to identify opportunities for improvement, accuracy, and compliance
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of CDI program, providing recommendations for enhancements
• Ensure documentation meets regulatory requirements, including ICD-10, DRG, and other coding standards
• Coach, train and mentor CDI specialists
• Develop and deliver educational materials for CDI team members, including but not limited to coding guidelines, risk adjustment, compliance, and regulatory changes
• Work closely with project managers, coders, clinical teams, and client leadership to align documentation with clinical and financial objectives
• Facilitate collaboration between CDI team and external stakeholders to optimize program outcomes
• Assists with generating key reports and ROI for partner engagement
• Perform clinical audits and provide insight into findings
• Analyze and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs) and EHR reports
• Ensure partner specific CDI KPI’s are consistently met
• Supervise CDI Specialist(s) daily activities and performance to achieve and maintain established KPI standards and expectations
• Identify gaps in daily operational workflows and provide recommendations for process redesign
• Work independently or as part of a project team on a client engagement
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement
• Are experienced with MS-DRG, APR-DRG, SOI/ROM, PSI, HACs, IPPS and regulatory guidelines, such as inpatient coding guidelines, Vizient or Elixhauser methodology, clinical validation, and denial management.
• Possess excellent organizational and communication skills (analytical skills are a plus)
• Excel at delivering high-quality work and driving positive impact through outcomes and results
• Possess strong project management aptitude with proven ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and work within deadlines
• Understand the dynamic nature of managing delivery and expectations, and can adjust to drive towards successful outcomes
• Effectively influence and communicate at the peer to C-level, both internally and client-facing
• Lean into difficult or ambiguous situations with a result-oriented and collaborative mindset
• Bring a strong track record of building, developing, and maintaining relationships with just about anyone
• Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office products and in organizing your desk
